MITHAS presents: Ken Zuckerman, Hindustani sarod. Ken Zuckerman “has risen from a mere curious foreigner interested in fathoming the secrets of the exotic East and its equally exotic musical fare, to being one of the foremost performers of the art.” He is one of Ali Akbar Khan’s senior-most students and an outstanding sarod player and long time educator, heading the prestigious Ali Akbar College of Music at the Basel (Switzerland) Conservatory. His combined talents have innovated in the performing of medieval western music, teaching Indian music and modal improvisation. Performing with him is the brilliant tabla player Nitin Mitta. 6pm, Wong Auditorium. Free for MIT students and MITHAS members. Admission: $30; students & seniors: $10. Please check www.mithas.org or contact at mithastimes@gmail.com for information and confirmation.
