Photo from one of Ken Urban's PlaysKen Urban was awarded a Jerry A. Tishman Playwrights Creativity Fund from New Dramatists to support the development of my new play DANGER AND OPPORTUNITY.

A four-day workshop of the play will be directed by Steve Cosson (Artistic Director, The Civilians) and feature Maulik Pancholy (30 ROCK, WEEDS), Michael Cyril Creighton (SPOTLIGHT, HIGH MAINTENANCE) and Danielle Skraastad (NYTW’s HURRICANE DIANE).

The workshop will conclude with an invited reading on Friday, December 14th at 3pm. The play is a comedy about a married gay couple who decide to get romantically involved with an ex-girlfriend.

Ken Urban Wins 2024 Blue Ink Award

As part of the award, Urban receives a $3,000 cash prize, a staged reading directed by Artistic Affiliate Dexter Bullard at American Blues Theater, and the opportunity to further develop his script with our artists.
